It offers truer perception, but is less forgiving in hazier or lower light conditions offering less detail than amber-brown options. This lens is also available as the Malachite Polar which will reduce glare further, but is not recommended where ropes or jumping crevasses are employed. Polarized lenses may also black out some LCD screens.

TRAN-SPORT Cat# 3 PHOTOCHROMIC

Reaches the highest Cat 3 glacier density of 90%  (10% VLT)100% UV ABC) at full darkening. A more aggressive, higher contrast version of the McKinley Photochromic, but starting at a slightly lighter 50% density (50% VLT) in lower light moderate to cool temperatures and transitioning to marginal glacier density in brighter conditions. An excellent rapid sport lens, with some flexibility for hiking, biking, etc.
