Metal vs. Plastic/ Nylon Frames

Classic metal glacier frames have a soft wrap (curve) or no wrap at all, allowing even thicker prescriptions to be fitted successfully when lens routing is incorporated. Metal frames are more durable in exceedingly cold temperatures.

Most of our plastic glacier frames were chosen for their ability to accept a broad range of prescriptions when lens routing is incorporated. A few models are more heavily curved and prescription adaptability is somewhat limited.
