Pro-Performance vs. Performance Series Lenses
Pro-Performance Lenses: These lenses offer a maximum of 92% light reduction; excellent for high-altitute expeditions, rock climbing, and ice climbing. Blue Tundra and Silver Frog lenses feature a flash mirror, pigment base, and back Anti-Reflective Coat. Glass McKinley lenses feature a hydrogen fired photochromic base and pigment back coat. These lenses show minimal fading or loss of protection
Performance Lenses: Darker than an average sunglass, at 88% visible light reduction, the Sierra #3 or Malachite #3 lenses offer good all around performance for everyday activities. They feature a color pigment base, back coat and a multi-layer anti-reflective back coat. Caution! Plastic versions or these lenses are prone to fading and loss of protection over time.

Pro-Performance Series Lenses
Blue Tundra

(clouds reflecting on lens surface)

Compare to other lenses
|
Glass or plastic material
100% UVA, UVB and 90% IR protection
~92% Constant visible light reduction
- Aggressive yellow, brown filter,
- Blue mirror front surface
- Antireflection back surface
- Great protection in bright light or cloud cover
- Excellent blue light (haze) filtration
|
McKinley

(clouds reflecting on lens surface)

Compare to other lenses |
Glass or plastic material
100% UVA, UVB and 90% IR protection
PHOTOCHROMIC light reduction
65% - lightest
90% -darkest
- Adapts to varying light conditions
- Excellent contrast, depth perception and haze filtration
- Reaches maximum density (darkest) in cold, bright conditions
- Hot temperatures impede the process (lenses stay lighter)
- Not mirrored to maximize photocromic efficiencies
- A great cross-sports lens choice
|
Silver Frog

(clouds reflecting on lens surface)

Compare to other lenses
|
Glass or plastic material
100% UVA, UVB and 90% IR protection
~92% Constant visible light reduction
- Soothing as the muddy bottom of a cool pond,
- Least color distortion
- Specifically aimed at very bright, clear conditions
- Caution! This is an extremely specialized lens with will not adapt well to cloudy, overcast, generally low light conditions
